Sambar Powder
Rich, authentic South Indian flavor.
Health & everyday wellness
- Lentils provide plant protein and fibre; vegetables add vitamins for an everyday balanced plate.
- Traditional sambar spices are chosen for depth of flavour without relying on MSG or synthetic taste enhancers.
A regular bowl of vegetable-rich sambar fits easily into a home-cooked routine that supports steady energy and hydration alongside rice or millet.
Without chemicals
Our sambar powder is ground from whole spices — no chemical colours to fake a “restaurant red.” What you see comes from chillies and slow roasting.
Step-by-step in your kitchen
Step 1
Cook dal
Pressure-cook toor dal with turmeric until very soft; mash lightly for a creamy sambar body.
Step 2
Boil vegetables
Simmer drumstick, onion, tomato, or your favourites in water until tender.
Step 3
Add sambar powder
Stir in Ojas Sambar Powder. Simmer so the spices cook through and the oil begins to release on top.
Step 4
Temper and merge
Temper mustard, curry leaves, and dried chilli in oil; add to sambar. Mix in cooked dal; simmer to one smooth flavour.
Step 5
Balance and serve
Finish with tamarind if needed, jaggery for roundness, and fresh coriander. Serve hot with rice or idli-dosa.
